I learned something this summer: my Palm Pilot and a garden hose don't mix. I had my Palm in the side pocket of my shorts when my son decided to play "let's spray Dad" one afternoon. I didn't realize for hours that my Palm was a casualty of the romp.
The beast still works ... it just crashes every time you use it. Sooo, I haven't been using it, but have been keeping up my desktop files.
This week, I broke down and bought a new Palm; I actually would have been quite happy to have bought another M500, but they're so old-school, you can't buy them anymore. So, I got a sleek little Zire 31. Just like the last time, when friends wanted to know why I wasn't getting one with colour, I got ribbed about not getting with the times and getting a PDA that could handle e-mails, phones and light housekeeping.
Same answer: I don't need it. At least, I don't really want to pay for it. I already raise eyebrows in the house when I check e-mail on my home PC; I can do without the eternal temptation to "just check in" one more time.
