The Globe and Mail is continuing a series started Saturday about Newfoundland and the offshore oil dispute; here's Monday's instalment. The material on Saturday was interesting, but on the web, the content is limited only to subscribers. It's worth searching out a copy of Saturday's paper, including for a chart that compares transfers to and from Ottawa and St. John's. (And a tart column from Rex Murphy. Speaking of which, we set up a features page on the regional CBC site following a rather large reaction to Rex's commentary on Canada Now on Tuesday. Feel free to have a look.)
Meanwhile, Richard Gwyn has his say in the Toronto Star this morning about the ongoing dispute. Gwyn lives in Salvage during the summer; having your feet on the ground in the issue gives him some insight, to say the least.
