It's been balmy, hot and/or wet this week - sometimes all at once. Some of the music that's fit the mood, and sometimes the forecast, over the last few days is this week's playlist.
Dave Matthews Band: Stay (Wasting Time) In St. John's, it not so often that it's "so hot ouside, you coul fry an egg," as this song puts it, but we had a few moments this week. "A little taste of the good life" goes with this bop-out of a tune, with a singalong ending that's hard to resist.
Lemon Jelly: Nice Weather For Ducks. When he was two or three, our son loved this song, which took both an arty and poppy approach to a children's tune. Always sounds good when it rains.
Donald Fagen: Tomorrow's Girls. From Kamakiriad, Donald Fagen's hat-tip to B-movies, sci-fi trash, suburbia, patio evenings and more, with a groove, too.
The Motels: Suddenly Last Summer. A song from my university days that holds up pretty well.
