Adele, the young British singer with the old-soul voice, sings Someone Like You live at KCRW in this acoustic performance. Her second album, 21, came out this week; I haven't bought it yet, but will. The advance single, Rolling in the Deep, was a knockout, and ranks with the great "don't mess with me" tunes.
Adele gets compared a lot to Amy Winehouse, but she reminds me of Dusty Springfield and powerhouse singers from another era. Maybe that's because there's a retro feel on Rolling in the Deep, the advance single from her upcoming second album, 21, which is out in a few weeks.
