Not the Jam tune, but getting its inspiration from the same source. David Bowie recorded this song for the 1986 adaptation of the Colin MacInnes book about 1950s youth in London. The movie was a bit of a disappointment for me: too stylized and affected. Bowie had a small part, unconnected to this tune.
