We've had quite the summer in St. John's, and hopefully the run of good weather is not yet done. I heard a version of Estate by jazz pianist Ezra Weiss on Sirius XM in the car a while back, and it fit the heat and the mood of the day.
After hiding behind a fog bank for much of the last while, summer only recently showed up in St. John's. But she has been kind the last couple of weeks, with record temperatures yesterday and today.
I'll take it.
Incidentally, I came across this list on Real Simple of reusing everyday items for something new and summery, if that's the right word. The object above? A kazoo, reused to spread the joy that are bubbles.
Dot Dot Dot is Morse code for the letter 'S,' the full message Guglielmo Marconi claimed to have received atop Signal Hill in St. John's in 1901. It ushered in the age of telecommunications. My maternal grandfather worked as a telegraph operator for Canadian Marconi on Signal Hill for many years.
As well, I have a habit of overusing the ellipsis when I write ... as frequent readers might notice.
