House of Stewart

The Daily Show is my quick laugh of choice in the early evening (albeit, the show from the night before, on my PVR ... it comes on waaay past my bedtime). Much more hilarious than, say, Entertainment Tonight. Stephen Cole has a new feature on Jon Stewart and gang on CBC's arts site.

Daily Dot: First hockey stick A milestone recently passed in our house: I bought my son his first hockey stick. For street hockey, not ice, with the requisite orange ball to go with it. He saw his 11-year-old cousin playing street hockey, and, as they say, that was that. So our league (of two) has formed ... we'll see where it leads.

Sweater weather St. John's dodged a weather bullet last week; much of the rest of the island got whacked by either a snowstorm or a deluge of rain, while we got, in comparison, a bit of rain.
