O Holy Night: Song by Christa Borden, visuals by friends and fans Christa Borden has just completed a rendition of O Holy Night, which is a staple at Christmas time - and a summit for any singer to attempt. For the video, Borden tried something intriguing: she solicited photos from her friends and her fans, and they delivered. The resulting video was posted to YouTube last week. Here it is:

Musical advent calendar: Tony Bennett, My Favorite Things My Favorite Things (I'm sticking with the spelling of the song as published, forsaking my inclination to stick a U in there) is of course from The Sound of Music; somewhere along the line, the Rodgers and Hammerstein tune became part of the Christmas canon. (Admittedly, the lyrics do reference things like snowflakes and mittens.) I think a big factor in that transformation was Tony Bennett, who recorded a jazzy, brassy version of the song...
