Stoned Soul Picnic No one is quite sure what Laura Nyro was getting at when she came up with "surry down" to the event described in this song, but the first word in the title may just be a clue. I heard a cover version by Jill Sobule; the song remains best known for the hit version that the Fifth Dimension had of it in 1968. Groovy outfits!

Those skyscraper workers I saw this T-shirt at Rockefeller Center in New York, which of course is filled with versions of the decades-old photograph of high steel workers having their lunch. (Certainly the image has been used time and again in connection with Newfoundlanders who have trekked down for that line of work!)
